Staff Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Camp Kintail Board to encourage excellence and celebrate personal development amongst staff members, and recognize their significant contribution to our Christian camping ministry.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, November 1, 2024

 

Scholarship Guidelines

• The number of awards is dependent on available funding and the quality of applications. The scholarship value is $500.

• Previous recipients may apply again.

• A selection committee will determine recipients and may consult with the Executive Directors.

• The names of applicants will be kept confidential, but the names of successful recipients may be published.

• Recipients will be announced by mid-November 2024.

 

Eligibility

• Registered at a college or university or apprenticeship program in the 2023/24 and/or 2024/25 academic year.

• Worked as Camp Kintail staff member in Summer 2024.

• Not a member of the Camp Kintail Board or the Selection Committee, nor has an immediate family member on the Board or Selection Committee

 

Selection Criteria

• Quality of answers to the application questions which demonstrate personal reflection and a thorough effort.

• The staff member has demonstrated a commitment to Camp Kintail’s core values:

  • Safety

  • Play, fun, and joy

  • Inclusion 

  • Growth and Learning 

  • Excellence 

  • Stewardship

• Financial need may be considered in determining amount of the award, but this is not a primary selection criteria.

Applications must be received by Friday, November 1, 2024. Successful recipients may be asked to submit proof of enrollment.

4. College/University/Apprenticeship Name and Academic Program

5. Give a specific example of a time this past summer when you demonstrated leadership to make a difference in the Camp Kintail community.

6. Give a specific example from this past summer when you demonstrated commitment to the GROW philosophy (God, Responsible, Outdoors, Welcoming).

7. Tell us about a transferable skill you have developed at camp. Describe how you developed this skill and explain how you have applied it to other work/volunteer/life experiences.

8. What Bible verse had special meaning for you in the summer of 2024 and explain its significance for you?

9. How do you plan on contributing to Camp Kintail and/or the wider church community in the future?

10. Are there any special circumstances we should know about relating to financial need? (optional)
