Every year, someone asks what our staff does during the "off-season" months. To be honest, the answer is simple: almost everything!
We’re busy hosting school trips for elementary and high school students, often welcoming several student councils. These groups come to camp to build a sense of community and practice their teamwork skills before heading back to school for another year of collaboration.
In addition to school trips, we host all kinds of groups who rent the site for their own events and retreats. We love having the Girl Guides at camp—there’s something special about the fun outdoor activities and cozy nights around the campfire. We also welcome adult groups, like the Rustic Mamas, who lead craft sessions, cooking lessons, and group workouts, followed by an evening dance party! Youth groups, church groups, families, and more also book the site for large-scale rentals throughout the year.
Businesses and organizations are discovering the joys of day trips and dinners at Kintail, too! If you're planning a banquet, why not enjoy delicious food in our spacious hall? For small business teams looking for a day of fun, we’ve got you covered—imagine spending the day playing games, trying archery, and feeling like kids again. It’s a great way to bond and refresh your team spirit!
Of course, we also host a variety of exciting retreats and events right here at Kintail. From craft retreats to Sunday Supper and Kirk in the Cedars, fall is a wonderful time to visit. Plus, you’re almost guaranteed to run into old friends every time you stop by!
On the days when we don’t have guests at the camp, our staff stays busy maintaining the site for the upcoming season. We dive into deep cleaning, tackle those hard-to-reach spots, harvest and weed the garden, clear brush, stack wood—the list goes on and on. It's a lot of work, but it ensures that Kintail is ready for another fantastic summer of camp fun.
So there you have it! We serve great food, provide excellent hospitality, make improvements around the site, offer fun and memorable programming, and then clean up and get ready to do it all again. It's a full schedule, but it’s all worth it to keep Kintail running smoothly for our guests.
Until next time!
