Want to be more mindful in 2025? Come craft with us!

Have you ever found yourself lost in the rhythm of knitting, stitching, or painting, and noticed how your mind feels quieter? It’s not just your imagination, crafting does great things for your mental health! The act of creating something with your hands can serve as a mini vacation for your brain, helping you relax and refocus. Whether it’s a simple sewing project or a more intricate piece of art, the methodical nature of crafting allows you to be present in the moment, reducing stress and promoting a state of mindfulness. It’s like giving your mind a break from the constant chatter of daily life (the dishes on the counter can wait, I promise)!

When you immerse yourself in a craft or in art practices, you can find a state of "flow" and time just seems to disappear. This flow state not only helps you feel more connected to the task at hand, but it can also boost your mood and help fill your cup so that challenges that arise in life don't feel so... well, challenging.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching your efforts come together, whether it’s the first few stitches of a quilt or the final brushstroke on a painting. That’s why our craft retreats at the camp are such a great way to reconnect with yourself. In a cozy, stress-free environment, you'll find the freedom to explore your own creative ideas (with no dishes staring at you from the kitchen sink and all the caffeine in the world).

Not only will you leave with new progress on your projects, and maybe a craft or two from one of the Kintail craft sessions- but you’ll also leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a renewed sense of calm. So, if you’re looking to unwind, recharge, and tap into your creativity, why not join us? Your mind (and your hands) will thank you!

Hope to see you this year!
